The 48-year-old is mother to two teenage girls and her youngest, Harvey (7), was born when she was in her early 40s.

“I’m 48 now, going to the school gates looking at these 20-something mums and I wonder if they think I’m his granny,” she told the RTE Guide.

However, now that the children are growing up, Donohoe says she hopes to branch out into more of her own projects in showbiz.

“Hopefully, now they’re a bit more grown-up I am at a stage where I can start doing the things that I want to do for me, like this show. Now that I’ve started this, I’ve so many ideas. I think we’ve really tapped into something and I’m really proud of it.”

The star says she was blessed to work with the late Gerry Ryan on radio.

“I was blessed to get in at a time when the programme was evolving and Gerry was the radio underdog. It was an amazing time.”

“You’ll never get that with anyone again. That kind of chemistry that we had was unique.”

Through the years, the star says she has learned a huge amount from various colleagues.

“I’ve probably learnt the most from Derek Mooney, actually. He has an amazing entertainment brain on him. Then hanging around with Marty is like hanging around with Niall Horan. So from that point of view, I feel I’ve learnt a lot from all the people I’ve worked with.”
