No more Threesome for Amy Huberman as show scrapped

Threesome, Comedy Central, has been dropped.

SHE has yet to return to work after becoming a mother, but actress Amy Huberman may decide to extend her maternity leave, as her show ‘Threesome’ has been scrapped.

The Irish Independent has learnt that the Comedy Central series will not be re-commissioned for a third season.

A spokesperson for the production company behind the programme, Big Talk Productions, told this newspaper that while they thoroughly enjoyed working with the 33-year-old, it will not be green lit for another instalment.

“‘Threesome’ performed well in the last two seasons, but we will not be developing any future episodes,” the spokesperson confirmed.

“We love Amy and there are always other projects, so we’ll see what happens in the future.”

The show’s axing will no doubt come as a blow to mother-of-one Huberman.

Last year the wife of Brian O’Driscoll lost a major role in NBC production ‘Animal Practice’, which aired in the US, despite securing the part for the pilot.

Huberman admitted she found the move “pretty harsh” and that the experience had shaken her confidence at the time.

Despite the cancellation of ‘Threesome’, Huberman will appear on television screens in the coming months.

She has not stepped foot on a set since giving birth to baby Sadie last February, but the IFTA award winner filmed two episodes for the second season of Chris O’Dowd’s Sky hit ‘Moone Boy’ last year which have yet to be screened.

Playing the role of an eccentric art teacher, fans can see Huberman in action when the series returns in 2014.

It was initially scheduled to air in November, but has been postponed until late January.

In line with acting, Huberman has established herself as an author and a shoe designer.

Her third line of footwear for Bourbon hit the shelves last month, just in time for Autumn/Winter season.

It continues a successful collaboration with Castleblaney brothers Jim and Barry McArdle and this time around Huberman has created 14 new styles to her range.

And alongside a second novel, she recently added another string to her bow as the face of Irish jewellery brand, Newbridge Silverware.

To go with photographer Barry McCall’s glamorous shots of Amy, a commercial for the brand was directed by Hugh O’Conor, and has been running on TVs around the country since the summer.
