Krystle crew hold Corr values dear

Don't you just love the unique ways people have of putting money back into the real economy. Take Ireland's most dashing businessman Johnny Ronan and his business partner Ronan Barry. No breaking-for-the-border shopping for them.

At Krystle nightclub's third birthday last Friday, eschewing the night-long free bar Johnny and Ronan bought several bottles of Grey Goose Vodka at €220 a pop. And why not?

"It seems the free bar didn't include bottles of Grey Goose vodka," my spy in the Harcourt Street hotspot told me.

Before you scoff, let me remind you that most of the great and good were more than happy to avail of the free hooch. Rosanna Davison and on/off beau Wesley Quirke also enjoyed the party, as did Andrea Roche and her hubby, PJ Mansfield, son of multi-millionaire Jim Mansfield.

Andrea, by the way, might have bumped into Andrea Corr, had she gone to Krystle the following night. (In these glum times we need reminding of the sublime side of life, such as the fact that Andrea Roche at one time looked set to become Andrea Corr -- yep, she used to date Jim Corr.) But it was not to be. Ms Roche values her beauty sleep so there was no collision of the Andreas.

Corr and her husband Brett Desmond (son of multi-millionaire Dermot Desmond) arrived at 12.30am straight from an event with a gang of friends. I have it on good authority that they attended the Ireland v Fiji match earlier in the evening.

My mole in Krystle told me that 6ft 4in Brett "looked dashing as usual in a suit while his stunning elfin wife looked gorgeous in a simple black dress".

Brett and Andrea stayed until closing time in the club. And why wouldn't they? Not for nothing are they called Ireland's couple du jour. Or should that be couple de la nuit?
