Grandfather Seanie wins a special baby bonus

One thing's for sure: life goes on. Seanie FitzPatrick has become a grandad for the first time. The big question in banking circles is, will the baby's first word be Dada or Nama. And will Seanie be presenting her with a SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) to be perambulated around in?

Seanie's eldest son Jonathan is based in Fiji (clever Jonathan). His Australian wife, Claire, gave birth to their first child on October 8 in Claire's home town of Melbourne. They have called their daughter Lauren.

Claire and Jonathan were married last year at the Ritz Carlton in Co Wicklow, with Seanie giving a speech to the crowd, welcoming his new daughter-in-law to the family and to the country. And what a country. Well, it's a different country now that Seanie and his colleagues in the banking system did their worst.

But the sins of the fathers, etc. We wish all good things to Jonathan, Claire and Lauren.

Intriguingly, Seanie's lovely daughter Sarah was sitting at the Anglo table at the recent Q Ball in the Mansion House. "Cheeky or what?" said my source at a nearby table. I wonder where she gets it from?
