Cook tries to dish up dirt on Christie

Peter Cook needs to Man Up. "My hope is that the world sees that I'm not the scumbag pervert that I've been painted to be," the 49-year-old ex of Christie Brinkley said in a cringing TV interview that aired Friday night. Cook was referring to claims made during the couple's recent custody battle that he (among other things) spent an eye-popping $3,000- a-month on internet porn sites.
In the self-serving interview, Cook -- obviously still stinging from losing the legal battle to Brinkley -- also strained viewers' credibility when he claimed the former supermodel was to blame for his infidelity with his then 18-year-old assistant.
"I wanted a little acknowledgment, a little attention, a little thank-you every now and then for my efforts, for the amount of time I took to care for her and my family, for the wealth I was building," Cook whined to Barbara Walters. He defended the affair by reasoning that he "was seeking a connection I could not find in my own marriage. I think the emotional aspect of our lives had changed. I think we were both feeling more like we were living with a brother and sister than a life partner".
Apart from furthering his reputation as a narcissist, Cook may have opened the door for Brinkley to haul him back into court.
According to outraged sources in her camp, Brinkley plans to sue him for breaching the confidentiality agreement he signed on October 3 in exchange for the $2.1m he is supposed to receive from her in their divorce settlement.
