Chris Brown has said he is "confused" as to how the public view him.
The 20-year-old singer acknowledged that some people would prefer he be behind bars following his attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna.
But he added in an interview with MTV that he believes that his fans still "love me and support me".
Chris was convicted to five years probation and community labour after admitting assaulting the Umbrella singer earlier this year.
The attack left Rihanna heavily bruised and with a mouthful of blood, according to police.
Since then he has been attempting to rebuild his once squeaky-clean reputation.
But he is unsure as to how this has gone down with the public.
He told MTV that there are some people that "don't want to see me do anything they wanna see me kind of, basically in jail."
Chris Brown: The Interview will premiere on Friday.
