Carrigstown won't get Michelle's X factor

BLOW: Michelle won't be joining Jimmy and Ali in Fair City

FORMER popstar Michelle Heaton (27), has been dealt another blow to her ailing television career.
RTE has confirmed to the Herald that despite ongoing speculation, the You're A Star judge will not be given a role on Fair City.
Just weeks after she split from hubby Andy Scott Lee it has been stated that the Liberty X singer had been given a part in Ireland's number one soap.
There had been rumours that Ms Heaton was being parachuted into Carrigstown to set pulses racing with some saucy scenes.
According to an insider the singer had hoped to join the Fair City cast in a desperate bid to revive her ailing television career after You're a Star was axed by RTE recently.
However spokesperson for the soap, Karen Fitzgerald told the Herald, "Michelle definitely will not be joining the cast of Fair City anytime soon.
"There has been some speculation in recent weeks that she was in talks for a spot on the show but I've no idea where the rumours came from," she added.
This confirmation will no doubt come as a further knock to the 27-year-old brunette who has been struggling in recent weeks to come to terms with her high-profile marriage split after six years.
Singer Michelle would have been hoping that a stint on the soap would have given her career a breath of life much like it did for her pal Keith Duffy.
The pair judged the singing talent on RTE's You're a Star earlier this year and Michelle is no doubt familiar with how the Dubliner created a new career for himself after his boyband went their separate ways.
Boyzone star Keith became famous all over again after a two-and-a-half year stretch on the Manchester soap Coronation Street. He went from fading pop star to well-loved soapstar after adopting the role of rogue Ciaran McCarthy.
boost
Michelle, who came to fame after loosing a reality talent show and forming a band anyway, could have done with the inevitable boost from taking up residence in the fictional Carrigstown.
The woman from Gateshead in the UK has embraced Dublin as her new home and has been looking for work in the capital.
Meanwhile, her ex-husband Andy is still pushing ahead with his singing career. He sung his most recent single Unforgettable to Michelle on the set of You're a Star in February this year just four months before the pair went their separate ways.
