A new book on the last days of Katy French looks set to cause "upset" for people within the model's former circle when it is published next month.

It has also been confirmed that Kieron 'The Wolf' Ducie, the friend whose house Katy collapsed in and the man who is said to have betrayed the model by releasing private text messages from Katy following her death, has contributed to the book.

The biography, written by Jason O'Toole and entitled The Last Days Of Katy French, promises to reveal "the full and exclusive story of the tragic events" that led to the model's untimely death.

The book, which will be published by Merlin, is still being scrutinised by lawyers before it hits bookshops next month.

However, Katy French's mother Janet and her family would not co-operate with the project, according to sources close to the late model's family.

Chenile Keogh, MD of Merlin Publishing, stated that the book will be a biography-style account of Ms French's life but will concentrate on her final year alive.

"The book will give you her background and how she became famous. It is really about the last year of her life, how things completely snowballed and one of the most important things to get across is what an icon she became after her death."

And although the company pledged that they have made a conscious effort not to cause any distress to the late-model's family, Ms Keogh acknowledged that the book contains information that "will obviously upset some people".

Close friends of the late model have voiced their disgust at the impending book.

Magazine publisher Michael O'Doherty pointed out that if the book was relying on information from her real friends, it would never have come to fruition.

The Assets model, who held a huge party for her 24th birthday only days before her death, died in Our Lady's Hospital in Navan in December 2007 after falling ill at the home of Kieron Ducie in Kilmessan, Co Meath.
