There's something about Gavin. In fact there's definitely something about our Gavin Friday. The Ballymun-born best friend of Bono is headlining a charity concert in New York next month -- topping the bill over U2, Andrea Corr, Shane MacGowan, and more.
An Evening with Gavin Friday and Friends in Carnegie Hall is a Red Night benefit, with funds raised going to fight Aids in Africa. It's being produced by Hal Willner, who is apparently a friend of the Man Friday.
Incidentally, the members of U2 are all billed individually although they are bound to appear as a band. But what puzzles the Diary is what Gav's artist pal Guggi plans to do onstage?
And how do the likes of Laurie Anderson, Courtney Love and Maria McKee feel about being lower on the he bill to Gavin?
