My perfect weekend: Xposé presenter Karen Koster
The plan for Saturday night?
This Saturday is going to be pretty low key as I'm working in London the next day interviewing Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman for the movie Invictus. The plan is pizza and beer and a good DVD.
Must see gig/performance of the weekend?
I don't get to many gigs, but I do love going out to comedy. I haven't been in ages but I used to love seeing comedy in The International.
Pub/restaurant/club you couldn't live without?
The one pub I probably couldn't live without is Fitzgerald's in Sandycove as it's my local. The staff are brilliant and there's always a lovely atmosphere in there. I love going there on a Sunday evening for a glass of wine.
Best weekend ever?
It would start with a lie in, then brunch in Nosh in Dalkey (get the pancakes!), afternoon would be spent in front of the TV with a rake of trashy celeb mags. Then I'd start the preparations for going out. Definitely have a glass of wine or a beer while getting ready, then one in Fitzies while we're waiting for the cab. Dinner would be in either Fallon and Byrne or The Port House on South William Street. Then more drinks in The Exchequer Bar.
Worst weekend ever?
Probably going shopping in town. I can't handle the carparks and crowds on a weekends. So that's my idea of hell.
Favourite pre-going out ritual?
A glass of wine while I'm putting on the slap.
Top post-pub munchies?
Garlic fries ... keep 'em coming.
Weirdest taxi queue moment?
When a teenage girl, who was a fan of Xpose, put me on the phone to her mum who wanted to have a chat with me about the dodgy outfits I'd been wearing on TV lately. She was spot-on with her style advice.
The price of fame! Best chat-up line
Do you fancy some garlic fries?
