Wretch 32 has revealed he can't wait to conquer the music scene in the US.
The 26-year-old rapper has been riding high in the UK charts and admitted the success of British acts such as Tinie Tempah in America makes him feel even more confident about cracking the States.
Wretch said: "I can't wait to fly the flag, man. I've been out there having a few meetings and it's interesting times because it feels like they're ready for something like that now."
He added: "Tinie's out there conquering new ground and hopefully I'm next to join him.
"He's doing great things. While I was out there having a meeting he had a show out there and I went along. They were all singing along to his lyrics, they knew the songs and I was really proud of him. It's a good feeling to see someone from home soil doing something so big in another country."
Wretch got his first number one in August and has been nominated for four Mobo Awards.
He said: "It feels great. It's such a good time in my life right now. I'm really happy. Especially with the Mobo nominations, it's like a blessing. That's the award ceremony I grew up watching, so to be a part of it is quite a surreal experience for me. So I'm feeling very overwhelmed."
Wretch has collaborated with top acts including Example and Chipmunk, and revealed he'd love to work with Bob Marley's son Damian next.
He said: "I'd really like to work with Damian Marley so hopefully that can happen this record, fingers crossed."
:: Wretch has helped launch The Stand Against Violence campaign. Wretch hopes young people can learn from watching the film at O2thinkbig.co.uk and pledge to take the Stand Against Violence.
