PRODUCER Will.i.am has confirmed that X Factor judge Tulisa recorded vocals for his hit song ‘Scream and Shout’ before Britney Spears.
The former N-Dubz singer had planned to release the track as her third solo single before Will.i.am took the song a re-recorded it with Britney Spears.
The former Black eyed peas member told MTV: “ Tulisa wrote to that song before I did - this is the truth. But the producers of the beat, two brothers from Belgium called Lazy Jay, didn't want her to have it, so I wrote to it and Britney is the only person I ever had in mind."
It is also believed that Tulisa was considering releasing her version of the song anyway – however decided to back down rather than risk a chart battle with the two US pop heavy weights.
‘Scream and shout’ landed at number two behind the X Factor’s James Arthur in the UK, while it dropped from eight to eleven in Ireland in this week's charts.
