This summer's V Festival has sold out in record time with tickets snapped up in just 90 minutes.

Bands such as Kasabian, Kings Of Leon and The Prodigy are to headline the event which takes place on two separate sites in August.

The tickets went on sale on Friday morning at 9am but the clamour to attend meant they had disappeared just an hour and a half later.

However packages which include coach travel and festival tickets are still available.

Festival director Bob Angus said: "Selling out in 1.5 hours is true testament to the passion of our fans and success of V Festival's 15th anniversary."

V Festival 2010, sponsored by Virgin Media, takes place over the weekend of August 21 and 22.

Other acts playing are Stereophonics, Faithless, The Prodigy, David Guetta, Pet Shop Boys and Cheryl Cole.
