A UKRANIAN singer is suing Carly Rae Jepsen claiming hit ‘Call Me Maybe’ copied her Christmas song ‘Hunky Santa’.
Singer Aza will file the lawsuit in LA claiming that producers tweaked her original song before adding Jepsen’s vocals.
Lyrics of Aza’s song include: “I like lots of hunky men and chocolate covered Bon Bons, I will make cookies for you.”
As well as: “I’ll be your sweetest lady, call me and here is my number” – possibly the source of Aza’s plagiarism claim.
The video features a bikini clad Aza dancing seductively in front of a Christmas tree as well as doing a strip tease for her ‘hunky santa’.
It has had less than 1,000 views on YouTube since it was uploaded last Christmas.
Aza told TMZ: “I'm shocked and surprised that these people wanted to sample my lyrics on their song. They didn't ask me for permission - they just took it.
“That's why I filed this lawsuit. When I first heard it on the radio, I was driving and almost got into an accident. I couldn't believe what I was hearing."
However a representative for Jepsen dismissed the claims saying: “This is completely false and lawyers will deal with this. Everyone knows Carly is a songwriter. She is not spending a lot of time listening to Ukrainian radio."
