TWINK has jumped to the defence of Linda Martin after she was branded a ‘drag queen’ during this year’s Eurovision final.

The two infamously fell out while they were both performing ‘Menopause the Musical’ together.

However the legendary performer still insisted she was appalled by the jibe and even suggested the former Eurovision winner could sue.

Twink, real name Adele King, said: “There is no love lost between Linda and I but I wouldn’t wish something like that on anyone”.

“Quite honestly I almost fell off the kitchen stool when I heard what happened. I thought it was very, very nasty”, she told The Star.

“Linda has represented herself and her country superbly over the years and is a big supporter of the contest.”

Ms King also slammed host Petra Mede, claiming she was trying to gain world attention at the expense of the ‘Why Me’ singer.

“It’s supposed to be a music contest not a vehicle for a would-be comedienne to guarantee herself global attention.

“It was a cheap and tacky shot. Yet another blow for the ever-decreasing standards of Eurovision.”

Although Ms Martin has not spoken out about the jibe, she has revealed that she was hugely disappointed with Ireland’s last place finish.

The 1992 winner has been hugely supportive of Irish entries in the competition – she mentored Jedward in Baku last year and flew out to Malmo this month to support Ryan Dolan.
