Twerking Miley Cyrus set to return to MTV music awards
Miley Cyrus is set to return to the MTV Video Music Awards one year after her controversial 2013 performance with Robin Thicke.
It was during last years show that the pair caused outrage with their controversial twerk-filled duet.
Cyrus (21) shocked the world when she appeared on stage in a nude latex bikini and twerked at Thicke (37) while making inappropriate gestures with a giant foam hand.
One year later she is set to return to the awards although unsurprisingly she has not been asked to perform again at the star-studded awards show.
A tweet from Cyrus’ official Miley Team account read “BREAKING: Miley will attend the VMAs Sunday night,” and was quickly retweeted by MTV.
This years show will open with a performance of “Bang, Bang” with Jessie J (26), Nicki Minaj (31) and Ariana Grande (21).
Other performers include Beyonce (32), who is nominated for a whopping eight awards, and Taylor Swift (24), who is set to perform her new single Shake It Off live for the first time.
Miley is up for the Video of the Year award for her hit song Wrecking Ball, along with Beyonce’s Drunk In Love, Iggy’s Fancy, Pharrell Williams’ Happy and Sia’s Chandelier.
The MTV Video Music Awards 2014 will air tomorrow night.
