Tinchy: Music is dog eat dog world

Tinchy Stryder has warned that the music industry is like a fight for survival.
The 24-year-old grime star, who is mentoring aspiring musicians for Disney XD's Aim High campaign, has advised that showbusiness isn't as easy as they may expect.
"Music's a hard game, so you have to keep the people round you close... It's a dog eat dog world, you have to know what you want and stay focused - also, don't be afraid to network and work with people, as two minds coming together is better than one," he said.
"The key things are to stay focused, work hard and be consistent," he added.
Tinchy, whose real name is Kwasi Danquah, was thrilled to be asked to be a Disney XD mentor.
"When I realised it meant having the chance to talk to kids about what I do, I thought it was a great idea. Aim High is an initiative that aims to encourage kids to aim high in life and strive to do better," he said.
"I didn't really get any sort of mentorship when I was growing up and I think it's important kids are given these opportunities. Knowing that I'm giving good advice and explaining what I've been through will help and influence them, so it's really positive."
He's also positive about shows like The X Factor.
"The X Factor brought Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke and JLS, so whilst there are a lot of bad acts, it's a great way for acts like them to get noticed. Everyone has their own route into the industry, this just works for some people," he said.
