This is one party that shouldn't get started

Start the Party
Jackass has a lot to answer for. Thanks to the antics of Johnny Knoxville and friends, a slew of similarly minded pranksters were foisted on our TV screens some years ago. Thanks, MTV.
One of the more enduring was the mystifyingly popular Welsh collective, Dirty Sanchez, whose supposed edgy comedy was chiefly apparent to those who hadn't yet reached their 15th birthday.
Dirty Sanchez may have faded away, but its main "star" Matthew Pritchard is still at large. Not only does he appear in the video for Start the Party – the shouty, in-your-face new single from the Welsh hardcore rock band, The Blackout – but he has also provided the group with the inspiration for this wildly irritating fourth album.
Frontman Gavin Butler sounds like he is in thrall to Pritchard's hard-partying lifestyle on the cliché-ridden Sleep When You're Dead – the name, apparently of Matthew's "notorious" (Butler's description) Ibiza boat parties.
While some of the tracks, including the single, have a certain puerile Andrew WK-like appeal to them – and are undeniably catchy – this guitar-heavy album offers little to tempt the discerning listener. The songs are big and brash for sure, but certainly aren't clever.
