The verdict on Miley:"I love her even more after her live show, and she continues to inspire me"
Miley Cyrus brought her Bangerz Tour to Dublin last night and the question on most people's lips was: would it be suitable for children? 15-year-old Miley fan Cara Campos gives her verdict....
As Miley's opening act, Sky Ferreira waned off the O2 stage after her short performance of 5 songs; the devoted Miley fans launched their sequence of cheers and chants with the desire of their idol bouncing on stage shortly.
Within 20 minutes, the anticipation came to an end as the face of the "We Can't Stop" singer appeared on the big screen above the stage. As Miley descended to the stage from her a tongue slide through a giant replica of her own face.; the crowd of girls and lots of gay guys went mental.
Wearing one of her her classic and infamous glittery leotards, Miley belted out Bangerz and gave plenty of crotch grabbing and twerking to keep the oldies in the audience gasping.
Next was the catchy melody "4x4" sung with the Irish flag draped over her (although not sure she knew what it was), Miley took the first of many costume changes reappearing in another thigh high leotard made of dollar bills. Sitting on top of a gold car, Miley sat leg opened, facing the audience while belting out her lyrics, grinding on the car, and twerking as if her life depended on it.
When the melody of the party song died down, the singers powerful voice broke the cheers of the audience as she said "I think I may have shook my ass way too f**ing much in that song because my earpiece came undone." "Yeah but seriously guys, I just did that whole f***ing song and I couldn't hear f***king shit."
Inviting the audience to play a game called "Are You Sluttier Than America", she told everyone to turn to whoever they came with and make out, getting right in there with the tongue. If your tongue-tastic session was satisfying, your face would be up on the screen above Cyrus as she performed "Adore You," with Miley telling us: "There's no such thing as too much tongue at my shows."
A more acoustic set followed with the singer doing three cover versions - "Summertime Sadness" by Lana Del Rey, "There is a light that never goes out" The Smiths, and "Jolene" originally sung by the inspiring Dolly Parton. Halfway through the song "Jolene" it was clear that the singer was largely engrossed in the lyrics and she exclaimed "You stupid slut, F**K you Jolene."
her concert drew to an end, she flawlessly sang her heart out to "Wrecking Ball" and the walls of the 02 were struck with boisterous, fierce and turbulent roars of the crowd.
I may not be speaking on behalf of all the girls at lasts night show when I say this but take it from me- the show was absolutely magnificent.
I love her even more after her live show and she continues to inspire me.
She doesn't take herself too seriously, she has fun, she loves what she does and all that delight and optimism is constantly transferring to the audience throughout her extravagant spectacle as she displays her gratitude and love to her fans. So thank you Miley for doing what you do and rock-on. (or should I say twerk-on)
