STING has announced an Irish date as part of his world tour this summer, confirming he will play the Marquee in Cork on July 1st.
The singer will bring the ‘Back to Bass’ tour to the city - which sees him play many of his greatest hits stripped back with a five-piece band.
The Marquee looks set to have a busy summer – acts already confirmed to play the venue include Elton John, Christy Moore and the Coronas.
Since 1985, Sting has released 13 solo albums, selling nearly 100 million albums from his combined work with the Police and as a solo artist.
He has also won 10 Grammy awards, a Golden Globe, an Emmy, and received three Oscar nominations.
