Spraoi Street Festival

The streets and quays of Waterford will be stomping to ska and cavorting to klezmer this weekend, as the annual Spraoi festival takes over the city.
Bidding to become Europe's largest street festival, Spraoi boasts a footfall of 100,000 over the three days, there to witness a heady collection of street theatre, music and family entertainment.
This year's highlights include German pyrotechnics Bangditos, with Uberflus, French company CIE Joe Sature with their mouth-watering Hors Service, Sweden's Magmanus and the Indian Kawa Circus troupe, weaving together acrobatics and music with a tale of an itinerant group of artists from Rajasthan.
Three stages will showcase music from up-and-coming Irish bands to world music and international acts, and the Festival Club will keep things going into the small hours at the Forum.
For those more concerned about small people than small hours, the sprOg fringe festival provides events for five to eight year old.
