Songs of hope to raise funds for homeless kids
An estimated 1,800 children in Ireland are homeless and find themselves living in emergency accommodation.
To highlight this sobering reality of Irish life in 2016, Independent News and Media will host Rock Against Homelessness at Dublin's Olympia on April 24.
The concert will feature performances from home-grown favourites including Camille O'Sullivan, Mundy and Le Galaxie as well as a special guest to be introduced on the night.
Tickets cost €25 and all proceeds will go to the Irish Youth Foundation's One For Ireland campaign (www.oneforireland.ie) which aims to raise €1m in the month of April to directly improve the lives of those affected by homelessness.
All funds raised will be distributed by the leading organisations dealing with the crisis on a daily basis, including Focus Ireland, Simon, the Peter McVerry Trust and St Vincent de Paul.
