Sir Cliff swings into jazz at 70
Sir Cliff Richard is moving into jazz with an album of swing covers.
The singer will release the new collection of standards, Bold As Brass, to mark his 70th birthday later this year.
Sir Cliff - who launched his showbiz career 52 years ago - has covered tracks such as They Can't Take That Away From Me, Let's Fall In Love and I've Got You Under My Skin.
The singer said: "Bold As Brass is an album I've planned and dreamt about for years. It's been a long time coming."
Sir Cliff has recorded his new release - his first new collection of solo recordings since 2007 - in Nashville with Grammy-winning producer Michael Omartian.
The album is being released by EMI on October 11, three days before his 70th birthday. He will also play six sell-out birthday concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in London the same month.
The record follows other albums of swing classics by stars such as Robbie Williams, who released his Swing When You're Winning album in 2001.
