Sam Smith picks up GQ's solo artist of the year award

Sam Smith has been been named solo artist of the year at the GQ Men Of The Year Awards on the same day it was announced he is the voice of the new James Bond theme song.
Smith joins a host of other stars like Lionel Richie, Keith Richards, Lewis Hamilton, Blur and James Corden who were all named winners at the ceremony.
He was presented with his award by Disclosure, whose single Latch he appeared on in late 2012.
The song catapulted Smith into the music arena as it debuted at number 11 on the UK singles chart.
The 23-year-old said recording Writing's On The Wall - title song to Spectre starring Daniel Craig as James Bond - was ''one of the highlights of my career''.
Model David Gandy was given most stylish man award by Hugo Boss.
The evening was hosted by Hollywood actor Samuel L Jackson and was held at London's Royal Opera House.
