Joseph 'Rev Run' Simmons has revealed he isn't sure what is going on with a planned biopic on legendary hip-hop group Run-DMC.
There had been reports that Notorious screenwriter Cheo Hodari Coker would pen the script for the film, which is expected to be based on Bill Adler's authorised biography, Tougher Than Leather: The Rise Of Run-DMC.
But the Rev clarified the situation, saying: "People have been talking about it but it's not at a place where they've questioned me and got all the licences and all of the information from me, so I'm just waiting to see how far it goes - we'll have to see."
The 45-year-old, who co-founded the influential act with friend Darryl "DMC" McDaniels and the late DJ Jason "Jam-Master Jay" Mizell in 1980, intends to be involved in the production.
"Very much so," he replied, when asked if he would like to be hands-on.
"I would be an executive producer."
