Roberts: I was 'misinterpreted'
Nicola Roberts has denied reports she made a dig at Madonna over her new single.
The Girls Aloud star was reported to be referring to the Queen of Pop's new track when she tweeted: "Copy-catting has never flattered me" after Cheryl Cole wrote on her bandmate's page: "Imitation is the biggest form of flattery".
But, following reports Nicola had accused Madonna of copying her, the Beat Of My Drum singer wrote: "Some people are so quick to jump the gun..." adding: "Some people interpret things to suit them..."
Nicola said: "Some people, like me, haven't even heard this leaked Madonna song."
She told her fans: "Some people find it so easy to say such horrible nasty hurtful words so frivolously."
A demo version of Madonna's new song Give Me All Your Love has leaked online months ahead of release.
The completed version of the song will reportedly feature rappers Nicki Minaj and MIA.
