Newly-reunited Take That stars Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams have revealed the band will definitely tour - but the collaboration may not be permanent.

The duo, who have recorded a single - Shame - together, said the group's only firm plans are for an album and live shows.

After 18 months working, the future is uncertain and they may go their separate ways, they admitted as they appeared on BBC Radio 1 on Thursday morning to unveil the single.

Asked about the future, Gary said: "I don't know the answer to that. We agreed when we started - it's 20 years since we began, it's our 20th year for all of us - to do a one-off album and maybe a one-off tour would be a great thing this year.

"But I think once we've done that, Rob will go back to being Rob, we'll go back to being a four. I think it will resume to how it was."

Robbie added: "The thing is, the door is open to do whatever we want. We've got 18 months planned. Whatever happens after, whatever happens after that. We haven't decided."

Gary said of live plans: "We are talking about a tour right now, so hopefully next summer we will tour."

In their first joint interview in 15 years, Gary admitted that he felt guilty about not looking out for Robbie, who was the younger member of Take That.

"I think we had a lot of guilt, the four of us, because Rob was the youngest, the most impressionable of all of us. We always felt like we didn't look after him enough," he said.

"I spent the last 15 years thinking about what I was going to say."
