IT’S the summer saga which shows no signs of ending – after a pub hosting a Garth Brooks tribute act this weekend was forced to cancel the event.
Dublin spot Doheny Nesbitts was planning to host a Garth Brooks tribute act this Sunday and Monday night.
The pub was hosting the event on the nights two of the planned five ill-fated Garth Brooks gigs were due to be held.
However in bizarre turn of events, pub management were forced to cancel one of the gigs after complaints from local residents.
“You're not going to believe this folks but the big man has cancelled his sixth show in Dublin!”, the pub said on its Facebook page.
“Due to complaints by the residents of lower Baggot Street our Garth Brooks tribute this weekend will now only take place on Monday night from 8.30pm til late!!”
Dublin City Council only granted a licence for three Brooks gigs, following complaints from local residents.
The singer then decided to cancel all his shows, rather than disappoint fans.
The ship containing the stage equipment had already docked in Netherlands prior to the cancellation.
The gigs were due to begin later this week.
Brooks will embark on a new world tour later this year - however there will now be no Irish dates following the fiasco.
