Prince is expected to deliver an unforgettable performance when he is honoured at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards.
The awards are returning to Las Vegas on Sunday, May 19 and will see the Purple Rain star honoured with the Icon Award during a live ABC broadcast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Prince will perform live during the broadcast, produced by Don Mischer and sponsored by Chevrolet and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
Last year Alicia Keys led a spectacular tribute to Icon recipient Stevie Wonder.
Adele dominated the 2012 ceremony, scooping 12 awards, including Top Artist, Pop Artist and Female Artist, while LMFAO took home an impressive six gongs.
The show featured over 15 live performances from music stars including Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Usher and Justin Bieber.
The awards reflect Billboard's chart rankings based on downloads, streaming and social networking, as well as album sales, and recognise a variety of genres, including RnB, Rap, Pop, Country, Rock, Latin and Alternative.
