Poison's Bret: Miley 'nailed' song
Wednesday December 23 2009
Bret Michaels has heaped praise on Miley Cyrus, describing her as a true "musician".
The Poison frontman worked with the Hannah Montana star for a "rad" cover of his band's classic ballad, Every Rose Has Its Thorn.
"She's one of the few musicians - and I want to use that word because she can actually play and sing - she's one of the few people who can pull it off and give it her own flare and make it sound good, she nailed the song," Bret told MTV.com.
"She really knew what she was doing. She got in there and picked the guitar up. It was one of those nights that just worked. It was fun."
He went on to say that the hit, which topped the US chart in 1988, won't be a duet.
"Well, I'll do some harmonies and stuff like that, but it's gotta be her version," he explained.
"I think that's what's going to make the song feel like she owns it. She's got a very contemporary twist to it. It's gotta be her taking Every Rose and making it all hers."
