One Direction's Niall Horan became a godfather yesterday. He stood for his nephew, Theo, at St Michael's Church in Castletown Geoghegan. But a mystery brunette, rumoured to be his new flame, set tongues wagging.
The stunning new girl in Niall's entourage came to the christening wearing a red dress and spent her time with Niall's mum Maura. The young woman, with an English accent, told fans she was from London.
Mum Maura has recently moved to London to be closer to Niall.
The international pop star arrived in a brand new Mercedes E200 to dozens of screaming girls and entered the church through a back door. Theo's parents, Niall's brother Greg and wife Denise, posed for pictures with their baby boy and spoke to fans.
Nigel and Naoise O'Hara, who were married in the church just an hour before Theo's christening, waited to speak to the star but Niall refused to meet the newlyweds as they waited at the top of the aisle. The bride and her wedding party weren't too disgruntled by the snub and told fans and media they were off to enjoy their reception.
Not only would Niall not meet the happy couple but he also refused to talk to the dozens of teenagers before or after the Mass. He had a minder with him who kept waiting fans away as he ushered him in and out of the church.
The One Direction star wore a three-piece tweed suit and stood as witness for baby Theo alongside the mother's niece, Rachel.
He did meet with fans outside his family home in Mullingar earlier in the day.
