BONO’S Christmas busk has become a much anticipated, annual event and the U2 frontman did not disappoint shoppers this year when he busked on Grafton Street.
The 52-year-old , who wore his trademark wraparound shades, was joined by The Frames’ Glen Hansard on Christmas Eve for a rousing performance of ‘Desire’ to the delight of their audience. Singer Lisa Hannigan also lent her support to the acoustic session which is now in its fourth year.
The traditional busk, which is organised by Bono, is in aid of the Simon Community and the Peter McVerry Trust which helps the homeless.
Sinead O’Connor also made an appearance and performed her son ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ while Damian Rice sang a version of his song ‘The Blower’s Daughter’.
The celebrities also treated bystanders to several Christmas classics, including Silent Night.
