Norman Cook want to collaborate with Al Green.
The British DJ, aka Fatboy Slim, has worked with "heroes" like Iggy Pop and Dizzee Rascal but believes the soul star, who's now a Reverend, has been put off by his drunken past.
"I've always wanted to work with Al Green but he's a very religious man and I think he heard what a sinner I am - I saw him a couple of times and mentioned it but I think somebody told him of my reputation, which preceded me and I think he swerved off," he said.
Now that he's sobered up, Norman - who headlines the SW4 Festival in London's Clapham Common on August 29 - thinks he could be in with a chance.
"I've got sober, I haven't found God yet though," he added.
Norman's next album, Here Lies Love, is a collaboration with Talking Heads musician David Byrne, and is about the life of former First Lady of the Philippines Imelda Marcos.
"It's a musical based on the life story of Imelda Marcos," he said.
"He wanted to do something the opposite of Evita. It was David's idea - when David asks you to do something, you just say yes and you don't question what it is. He's a legend. David has some very weird ideas but they end up working in the end."
:: Here Lies Love will be released on April 6.
