Niall Horan has revealed he is being targeted by a group of trolls who are sending him an incessant stream of abusive messages.

The former One Direction star took to Twitter to address the issue after the so-called fans managed to get his number.

The group has set up a chat group with the express aim of abusing him and sending him horrible messages about his family, even his two-year-old nephew Theo.

Although he said he is "not the kind of person who thinks into this" he did say that the messages have been keeping him awake at night.

Niall added that the group were laughing at him even as he tweeted about the issue and he wanted to highlight it for other people who might be going through the same thing.

"Don’t worry about me .im the most carefree , laid back person around. But I’m just signalling it, because this sh*te is happening to others."

Niall is not the first One Direction member to fall foul of a so-called fan.  Last week Louise Tomlinson was phoned up by a fan who asked him to follow her on Twitter.

When he refused she said she hoped his baby would die. However, he had recorded the conversation and said he passed the information on to his legal team.
