Newly-wed Paul McCartney to go on tour
Newly-married Sir Paul McCartney announces 11-date tour today, beginning next month.
Freshly-married Sir Paul McCartney is showing no signs of easing up after announcing an 11-date tour today, beginning next month.
The musician is to play three UK dates during the next leg of his On The Run tour which will wind down in his home city of Liverpool on December 20 - a year to the day since he last played there.
He will also perform at London's O2 Arena (December 5) and Manchester's MEN Arena (December 19).
The dates will begin with his first show in the UAE, playing at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and will then take in Europe and Russia.
He said: "Playing live is one of the most exciting parts of my job.
"My audiences seem to get better each year and the band and I love the buzz and feedback that they give us."
McCartney and new bride Nancy Shevell are to take their time with their honeymoon by waiting several days before heading off.
It echoes the music legend's first marriage to Linda in 1969 in which the couple were in no rush to head off to the US to visit family.
Sir Paul, 69, tied the knot for the third time yesterday and said he felt "absolutely wonderful" as he emerged from the Old Marylebone Town Hall in central London.
It is understood the couple may wait up to a week before enjoying a honeymoon. However the musician will, as ever, be throwing himself back into work with a tour to prepare for in little more than a month.
Last night family and friends from the world of showbusiness were among the guests at the reception at Sir Paul's north London home.
Ex-band mate Ringo Starr said his message for the couple was "peace and love".
