Multi-Grammy award-winning singer and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist Van Morrison has never looked so relaxed out of his comfort zone on the stage.

Could it be that the singer is a major fan of his fellow Northern Irishman and world number one golfer Rory McIlroy?

The rare photograph of the two legends was captured at a dinner for McIlroy's charity The Rory Foundation last week, 'Van The Man' sporting his signature suit, hat, and glasses in hand.

Although golf might not have been McIlroy's first choice of conversation following his unsuccessful week at the Irish Open, it was the perfect opportunity for the pair to catch up.

McIlroy and Morrison leaned against the fireplace of the luxurious Slieve Donard Hotel and chatted amicably as hopeful star-spotters hung around the hotel for a glimpse of their favourite personalities.

The dinner was hosted by McIlroy to raise funds to support children's charities around the world that 'try to give kids a helping hand'.

It took place just days after the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open at the Royal County Down Golf Club.
