Three revealed the Liffey-side entertainment venue’s new name as 3Arena today.

The brand change is part of the takeover of phone network O2 by Three.

The Live-Nation owned North Wall Quay venue hosts over 100 gigs every year and promises some of the biggest acts in the world in the coming months, including Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, Ennio Morricone, Imelda May, The Who and Peter Gabriel.

To celebrate the arena’s new name, Ireland’s biggest-0ever 3D projection-mapped project will light up the city skyline next week from September 10-13.

‘3Arena Illuminated’ will gather music fans’ memories from Three’s social networks and project the words and animation onto the arena.
