“So just want to keep everyone in the loop; I have been in Boston the last few days to have a check up on my throat, before I embark on my American tour,” he wrote on Instagram Wednesday, attached to a black and white selfie, which saw Sam throwing up the peace sign to the camera. “MY THROAT IS LOOKING BLOODY FANTASTIC. So it's amazing news. So happy. It's going to be a really tough month of shows but I can't wait to see you all, and pray it's going to be a smooth ride. LET'S GO (sic).”

Due to his vocal cord haemorrhage, Sam had to cancel 21 shows which were originally part of his In the Lonely Hour Tour. These cancelled concerts were meant to take place in Australia, Japan, the Philippines, Sweden, England, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Finland, Belgium and Monaco.
