Rihanna surpasses Michael Jackson's chart record as she works her way to another number one
Rihanna has surpassed Michael Jackson's chart record with her 14th number one single.
The singer, who turned 28 on Saturday, celebrated her latest milestone by landing her 14th number one single.
It was announced on Tuesday morning that Work, the single she collaborated with Drake on, has climbed to the number one spot in the Billboards charts.
The Bajan singer's latest chart success pushes her past Michael Jackson who secured 13 number one hits during his career.
The only artists who have more number one singles are The Beatles with 20 and Elvis and Mariah Carey with 18 each.
Rihanna released the highly-anticipated music video to Work on Monday. The seven-minute film features two videos in one and is a steamy, celebration of Caribbean culture.
The first video sees Rihanna and Drake dancing provocatively in a club and the second video sees the pair dance provocatively... in a private room. Twice the music and twice the grinding.
The single is duo's third collaboration. They first came together for the single What's My Name and again for Take Care.
Her album Anti, which was released on the music streaming service Tidal, also climbed to the number one spot on the Billboard chart, a week after its release on January 28.
Rihanna is also expected to perform on Wednesday night's BRIT Awards, joining a line-up of artists that includes Adele, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Little Mix, James Bay, The Weeknd and Jess Glynne.
