Not so fast - Zayn's new 'solo' track is a song rejected by One Direction
The track from former One Direction member Zayn Malik, produced by Naughty Boy, which was released by the producer on Soundcloud yesterday is reportedly a track rejected by One Direction.
'I Won't Mind' was believed to have been Zayn's first solo single since leaving the band last week, but it has emerged that the song was previously written for One Direction but didn't make it on to their latest album, Four.
Naughty Boy has now removed the song from Soundcloud although it had already garnered more than a million hits.
One Direction fans had reacted angrily to his apparent fast move as they still mourned his departure from the band.
Zayn had recently been spotted in the studio with the 30-year-old producer indicating he is working on his own material.
However, Zayn is reportedly still signed to Simon Cowell's label Syco and any music he releases will be sanctioned by Cowell.
Yesterday, Zayn's former bandmate Louis Tomlinson engaged in a Twitter row with Naughty Boy regarding a tweet the producer had written which said, 'Zaughty will rise'.
Early yesterday morning Louis (22) took to Twitter to voice his anger, "Wow @NaughtyBoyMusic you're so inconsiderate pal , seriously how f***ing old are you ? Grow up ! #masterofallwisdom."
Naughty Boy replied: “@Louis_Tomlinson calm down. was talkin bout Louis Walsh cuz he didn't let someone through on X factor. Look @ the date of the tweet. #2014.”
Louis didn't calm down. Instead he responded with, “@NaughtyBoyMusic I was talking about the video you tweeted . Clearly trying to wind the fans up ! Well you succeeded anyway . Fair play.”
