Northern Irish X Factor singer Janet Devlin will 'knock your socks off', says People magazine
Janet Devlin has been putting in some hard graft since she exited X Factor in 2011, having topped the public vote for five consecutive weeks.
The 20-year-old singer/songwriter from Gortin, Co Tyrone last year released her debut album, 'Running with Scissors' and is poised to release the single ‘Whisky Lullabies (Suantraí Meisciúil’)’ on 17th March 2015 on iTunes.
The song will be available in both English and Irish, because she wanted to "put a different spin on it".
"As 'Whisky Lullabies' is my favourite song from the album I thought I’d put a different spin on it. I wanted to re-record the track in Gaelic; ‘Suantraí Meisciúil’, as I love the different vowels and sounds of the Irish language," she said.
"With some help from Davy Spillane on the low whistle I was also able to add a more Celtic feel to the backing track. I'd like to continue to record in Gaelic whenever possible, but this was a challenge, as I’d not spoken the language in many years."
Janet recently performed another song, 'House of Cards' for People magazine (see video below), prompting the publication to say she's an artist who will 'knock your socks off'.
The album will shortly get an American release on the OK!Good label with PR by Rey Roldan who has worked with everyone from Britney Spears to Duran Duran.
