The 31-year-old daughter of Sharon and Ozzy, and sister of Kelly and Jack, was just 16 when she opted not to appear on the show because she knew, even at that age, that she wanted to be a singer.

Fifteen years later she has made her first foray into the music world, releasing a music video for Raining Gold and planning the release of an EP this summer.

Speaking to Rolling Stone she revealed she is puttingher music out under the name ARO to avoid "the obvious associations" with the Osbourne name.

She said, "I don't think I will ever cross-contaminate my private life and my family life with my public and professional worlds.

"For me, nothing's more important than having a very clear boundary between the two. That's just part of who I am."

Despite maintaining a professional distance from her family, she is still very close to them and revealed that both her parents are hugely supportive.

"They're really happy and excited," she told Rolling Stone. "And I think because of the delays and because they know there is a part of me that is so private, they, as parents, might have had doubts that I was doing the right thing.

"But it's been great to put their minds totally at ease that I'm doing the right thing for myself."
