Among the ticket holders was Coolock native Gavin McDermott, who discovered the rapper long before is very first visit here.
"I've been at ever gig he's played here and I was in the Twisted Pepper that night in 2011," he told the Herald.
"He's unbelievable - I always knew, from the beginning, he was going to be huge."
Lisa Massey from Walkinstown wanted to go to the concert to "ease the pain" amid the Garth Brooks fiasco.
"It's a shame about Garth, but at least Macklmore loves us," said Lisa, who was accompanied by Edel Alfred and Fran Massey.
For Tipperary sisters Aoife adn Claire D'Arcy it was their second time seeing the headliner, but it was a first time for Italian siblings Celeste and Francesca Bonnano. Reality star Virginia Macari's cousins Rico and Leandra Macari were also enjoying the night.
"We saw him before in The O2 and he's fantastic live," Rico said.
Macklemore is such a fan of this country that he jetted in a day early to soak up the atmosphere. Prior to arriving in Ireland he made a special video for his Irish fans.
For old times' sake, Macklemore met up with the Twisted Pepper's music booker Eoin Cregan. The rapper, who claims Irish heritage, arrived with his entourage at the sister venue The Bernard Shaw in Portobello to watch the World Cup. And before leaving the bar he was invited to graffiti the walls and wrote, "Macklemore, 37,000, Marlay Park, Dublin 2014' underneath a drawing.
British singer Ellie Goulding, Niall Horan's rumoured ex, warmed up the crowd after she toasted her arrival with an Irish coffee.
