Justin Bieber is back at the top - his new song 'What Do You Mean' has entered the US Billboard charts at No 1.

The song has become just the 23rd song ever to start at No 1 in the chart's 57 year history - racking up an impressive 337,000 downloads.

The Canadian debuted his new song at last weeks' VMAs - and broke down in tears on stage after his performance.

The song was well-received by critics and fans alike.

Music industry bigiwgs will look at how Justin utilised social media to publicise his new song.

 

He counted down the son'g arrival with the help of celebrity friends such as Ellen DeGeneres, Ariana Grande and Shaquille O'Neal.

It also got strong radio play during the week.

Bieber's new album is out on November 23rd.

Speaking to Billboard.com, Justin's long-serving manager Scooter Braun said he was happy to see Justin doing what he does best - his music.
