It's that time of year again! Christmas FM returns to the airwaves and it's for a good cause

Christmas FM returned to the airwaves today for round-the-clock festive tunes.

The radio station was again granted a temporary licence by the BAI to run until Christmas Day.

Over the last nine years the seasonal station, which is run by over 100 volunteers has raised more than €850,000 for charities including the ISPCC, Barnados, Aware, Age Action and the Simon Community.

This year the station will raise money for homeless charity, Focus Ireland via listener donations.

Sinead Price, co-director fundraising at Focus Ireland, said their aim of helping 300 families out of homelessness would “make a real and lasting difference” to those involved.

Christmas FM is broadcast from the Ballsbridge Hotel in Dublin between 7am to 2am seven days a week.

    North Wicklow is 107.3FM.
