Adele has surprised fans in many ways during her current world tour, including photobombing a fan, helping a concert-goer propose to her boyfriend, visiting a terminally ill girl in Belfast and getting an 11-year-old superfan to join her on stage.

However, on Friday night she proved that she's the ultimate celebrity dream best friend by playing the France v Romania gig on the big screen during her concert in Paris.

“How many of you want France to win the Euros?” Adele asked the crowd.

“I really want France to win the Euros – I think you lot deserve it!” she declared.

It's unlikely that she played the entire match during her performance but French fans were delighted at the gesture.

It's not the first time Adele has brought her love of football to the stage.

The singer confirmed her status as a Spurs supporter as she held up a club flag during a gig at the O2 Arena in London in April.

The 27-year-old, who was born in Tottenham, proudly unfurled the flag, to the cheers of the 20,000 strong crowd.
