Hozier announces 2fm Christmas ball will be last Irish gig for 'at least a few years'

Hozier has revealed his appearance at the 2fm Christmas Ball will be his last Irish gig for "at least a few years".

The Wicklow singer was speaking to Breakfast Republic when he admitted he'll be taking a break after 18 months of touring.

He said: "It'll actually be the last time I play Ireland for at least a couple years, I have to say.

"We have a show in Killarney that's sold out, but this will be the last time I play a gig in Ireland because I'm going to be taking a break."

When asked about a potential Croke Park gig, the chart-topper admitted he wasn't sure.

"I don't know, there's no plans for anything for the next little while."

The Take Me To Church singer said he "can't wait" to perform at the ball.

He said: "It's going to be amazing, the lineup is incredible."

Little Green Cars, the Riptide Movement, Gavin James, Ryan Sheridan and Hudson Taylor will all join the Work Song singer on Dublin's 3 Arena stage on December 23.

RTE 2fm and MCD have partnered up to host the Xmas Ball in aid of ISPCC, the national child protection and welfare charity in Ireland.
