Teenage Eurovision hopeful Molly Sterling wowed audiences ahead of this week's competition when she was centre stage at the Vienna State Opera.

The 17-year-old Tipperary native is Ireland's entry into the Eurovision this year and will sing her own song 'Playing With Numbers'. She was one of just four entries which were chosen from this year's song contest to participate in yesterday's matinee performance at the iconic Austrian opera house and she sang a song she wrote called 'Build Fireworks Again'.

The teenage singer-songwriter will appear on stage again for the second semi-final of the competition on Thursday night, and she described yesterday's 'Pop meets Opera' show as an "incredible experience".

Other performers included last year's winner, Conchita Wurst of Austria, and opera tenor Juan Diego Florez from Peru.

"I'm so excited about the week ahead, I just want to really experience it and get stuck in," she added.
