Ed Sheeran tops Irish album chart with 'x' for 16th week

Ed Sheeran has topped the Irish album chart for the 16th week with 'x'.

Sheeran (24) has sold more than 150,000 copies of the album, which was released over a year ago, in Ireland.

He also currently holds the number 7 spot on the official Irish chart with his second album, '+'.

Holding at number 2 is his good pal Taylor Swift with 1989 followed by Hozier with his self-titled debut and Nathan Carter has returned at number 4 with Beautiful Life.

In the singles chart The Weekend has hit number one with I Can't Feel My Face, which has been streamed in the US more than 4 million times.

Tom Cruise recently lip synched to the song, which is about cocaine use, on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Kimmel Live.
