David Bowie fans will be excited to know that the musical on which he is working with Irish playwright Enda Walsh will feature new material written by the music legend.

Inspired by Walter Tevis' 1963 novel The Man Who Fell To Earth (and the 1976 film adaptation of the novel that became Bowie's big screen debut), the new project is entitled Lazarus.

It will be staged in New York in December and it was previously thought it would feature material from Bowie's extensive back catalogue.

However, it has been reported that Bowie has in fact already written lots of new material.

It's the latest project in Walsh's massively successful repertoire which most recently boasts Ballyturk and The Walworth Farce.
